British independent MP John McDonnell called for the expulsion of Israeli Ambassador Tzipi Hotovely from London. During a parliamentary session with Hamish Falconer, Minister of State for the Middle East and North Africa, McDonnell criticized the Israeli attacks and blockade on Gaza, which have caused severe hunger and suffering, particularly for children.
He argued that Britain’s measures have been ineffective and called for isolating Israel economically and militarily to stop war crimes. McDonnell highlighted Hotovely’s opposition to Palestinian statehood and UN resolutions, questioning why she remains in the UK.
Minister Falconer acknowledged the humanitarian crisis in Gaza and emphasized continued diplomatic efforts to address disagreements with Israel. MP Zarah Sultana supported McDonnell’s call, urging the ambassador’s expulsion.
Since October 7, 2023, Israel, backed by the U.S., has committed widespread atrocities in Gaza, resulting in over 155,000 casualties, massive destruction, and famine, defying International Criminal Court warrants against Israeli leaders.
