Seven Palestinian civilians, including three children, have been injured today in Rafah, in the southern Gaza Strip, due to remnants left behind by Israeli occupation forces following their withdrawal. These injuries include shrapnel and bullet wounds, with medical sources reporting the arrival of four citizens at the European Hospital in Khan Younis for treatment.
Local reports state that the injuries occurred when an Israeli Quadcopter drone dropped a bomb on civilians in Rafah as they were inspecting their homes, from which they had been forcibly displaced during the 15-month-long genocidal war on Gaza. In addition to this, three children were injured by unexploded bombs left in and around the homes and areas where Israeli forces withdrew.
The ceasefire agreement, which took effect yesterday, included the first prisoner exchange deal between Hamas and Israel as part of efforts to end the ongoing war. The situation in Rafah highlights the immediate dangers faced by civilians, particularly children, due to the lingering presence of unexploded ordnance left behind by the Israeli forces.
