8,000 Palestinians Displaced from Jenin Refugee Camp Amid Ongoing Israeli Assault

Under the threat of occupation, approximately 8,000 Palestinians have been displaced from Jenin refugee camp. Former mayor Nidal Al-Obaidi confirmed that hundreds of families were forced to leave at gunpoint by Israeli occupation forces, heading towards the western part of the camp. Al-Obaidi reported that only around 5,000 people remain in the camp, which had a population of 13,000 before the displacement.

The situation in Jenin city and its refugee camp continues to deteriorate under ongoing Israeli aggression. Snipers are positioned on rooftops around the camp, and military reinforcements are in place. The occupation forces have cut off electricity to large areas, including vital facilities such as Ibn Sina Hospital and the government hospital, which has left the latter without electricity or water, shutting down its dialysis department.

Bulldozers have been destroying infrastructure, including water and sewage networks. The occupation forces have also blocked entrances to Jenin city with dirt mounds. Despite these challenges, the resistance remains resilient, with armed clashes and explosive devices targeting Israeli military vehicles. The camp’s geography has made the occupation forces' mission difficult.

For the third consecutive day, Israeli occupation forces have intensified their military assault on Jenin city and the refugee camp, alongside raids on nearby villages and towns. This ongoing aggression, named "Iron Wall," has resulted in 12 Palestinian deaths, including a child, and over 50 injuries, some critically.
