The Palestinian Government Media Office has stressed the urgent need for shelter in Gaza, calling on the Jordan Hashemite Charity Organization to prioritise sending tents and essential supplies. Thousands remain without adequate protection as winter conditions worsen, making immediate relief a pressing necessity.
Over half a million displaced people have returned to northern Gaza, only to find widespread devastation. Officials report that 85% of the enclave’s buildings have been destroyed, with entire areas, including the Jabalia refugee camp, completely wiped out. The current number of tents entering Gaza is far from sufficient to meet the needs.
Hamas has accused Israel of deliberately obstructing relief and reconstruction efforts outlined in the ceasefire agreement. The group highlighted that Israel continues to block aid deliveries, restrict essential medical supplies, and prevent much-needed rebuilding efforts.
The ceasefire deal includes provisions for reopening crossings, increasing aid shipments, and constructing temporary shelters. However, the slow implementation has left thousands of families exposed, with humanitarian groups urging immediate international intervention.
