Israeli Forces Intensify Assault on Jenin and Tulkarm, Forcing Mass Displacement

For over two weeks, Israeli forces have escalated their military operations in the occupied West Bank cities of Jenin and Tulkarm, unleashing widespread destruction and displacing thousands of residents. Entire neighbourhoods have been reduced to rubble, with relentless airstrikes and house demolitions forcing families—women, children, and the elderly—to flee in search of safety.

On Tuesday, Israeli forces turned civilian homes into military outposts, forcibly evacuating families and deploying additional troops across the area. Tulkarm refugee camp remains under siege, with soldiers raiding homes, ransacking properties, and expelling residents. Local sources report that Israeli drones bombed homes in Jenin’s Talat al-Ghabz neighbourhood, while fierce clashes erupted between Palestinian resistance fighters and occupation forces along the city’s main streets.

The violence has spread beyond Jenin and Tulkarm. In the Far'a refugee camp in Tubas, Israeli troops stormed the area, conducting house-to-house searches and using civilian properties as makeshift military barracks and interrogation centres. The town of Tamoun, south of Tubas, was also raided, with soldiers forcing residents from their homes, adding to the growing number of displaced Palestinians.

The devastation is staggering. Since the offensive began, at least 26 Palestinians have been killed, over 100 homes demolished, and essential infrastructure crippled. UNRWA warns of a worsening humanitarian crisis, with its services in Jenin refugee camp completely halted and all residents forced to flee. Juliette Touma, UNRWA’s Director of Communications, described the situation as “catastrophic”.

As Israeli forces continue their relentless assault, the northern West Bank faces one of its darkest chapters in recent history. Thousands of displaced families are now without shelter, food, or medical care, while the international community remains largely silent. With no end in sight, Palestinian civilians endure yet another wave of systematic violence and forced displacement, their suffering met with indifference on the global stage.
