SAFA — Israeli occupation forces have intensified their military assault on Hebron in the occupied West Bank, displacing more than 2,600 Palestinians, raiding hundreds of homes and imposing sweeping closures that have effectively divided the governorate into isolated areas.
According to the Hebron Relief and Support Committee, approximately 2,649 Palestinians have been displaced as Israeli forces continue forcing families from their homes.
Hebron Governor Khaled Dwaidat said Israeli troops have searched more than 500 homes, sealed 128 gates and access points, and established 120 military checkpoints across the governorate.
He added that more than 70 Palestinians have been arrested, while soldiers have smashed household belongings, intimidated residents and established field interrogation posts.
Homes Raided, Families Forced Out
Israeli military reinforcements, including armored vehicles and trucks, entered Hebron through Farsh al-Hawa and advanced into al-Jalda, Ein Deir Baha and southern neighborhoods near Jabal Karbaj.
Witnesses said soldiers confiscated Palestinian vehicles, assaulted a young man near al-Jalda roundabout and opened fire toward civilian vehicles in parts of the city.
Israeli forces also raided homes belonging to the Ja'bari, al-Natsha and al-Zaru families.
In Jabal al-Rahma, residents said soldiers divided a street to separate Palestinian and Israeli settler movement, further restricting Palestinians' access to their neighborhoods.
Governor Dwaidat said approximately 450 families, comprising more than 2,300 people, had been displaced from Ein Deir Baha and al-Jalda alone.
Hebron Cut Off by Military Checkpoints
Israeli forces continue to enforce tight closures around residential neighborhoods, towns and refugee camps.
Restrictions have affected the main entrances to Hebron, Idhna, Bani Na'im and Halhul, as well as al-Fawwar and al-Arrub refugee camps.
Residents described beatings, vehicle damage and the use of confiscated Palestinian cars to block roads.
The closures have disrupted access to hospitals, schools, workplaces and essential services, while displaced families struggle to secure shelter and basic necessities.
Demolitions and Settler Attacks Intensify
The Palestinian Authority's Wall and Settlement Resistance Commission documented 272 incidents involving Israeli forces and settlers in Hebron governorate during September, including 122 attributed to settlers.
The commission also recorded 19 demolition operations affecting 91 Palestinian structures, making Hebron the West Bank governorate with the highest number of demolitions that month.
Local officials and humanitarian organizations warn that continued displacement, military raids and restrictions are deepening the crisis facing Palestinian communities.
With thousands displaced, hundreds of homes searched and roads sealed across the governorate, Palestinian families in Hebron face mounting uncertainty over their homes, livelihoods and freedom of movement.
