Amid rising tensions over the Gaza truce, the Hamas-run Health Ministry in Gaza announced on Sunday that four people were killed and six others injured in Israeli attacks across the territory. The Israeli army, meanwhile, stated it conducted an airstrike in northern Gaza targeting "suspects" handling explosives.
The Health Ministry reported that "since this morning, four dead and six wounded" were transported to hospitals following Israeli attacks in various areas of Gaza. The Palestinian Red Crescent also documented casualties, including one death and one injury from an Israeli drone strike on civilians in Abassan al-Kabira (south), and another death and two injuries in Al-Farahine, east of Khan Younis. Additionally, two bodies were recovered in Beit Hanoun (north), near the buffer zone maintained by the Israeli army along the Gaza-Israel border.
The Israeli army claimed it carried out an airstrike targeting "several suspects" who were allegedly planting an explosive device near soldiers deployed in northern Gaza. The army stated the operation aimed to neutralize the threat.
The violence comes as tensions escalate between Hamas and Israel over the next steps in the ceasefire agreement. Israel suspended humanitarian aid to Gaza on Sunday, a move Hamas condemned as a "war crime" and a violation of the truce's second phase. Israel, meanwhile, is pushing for a temporary ceasefire proposal submitted by the U.S., which Hamas has rejected.
