90% of Jenin Camp Residents Displaced as Israeli Assault Enters 55th Day

The media committee in Jenin camp has reported that 512 homes and facilities have been fully or partially damaged since the start of the Israeli assault, now in its 55th day. The violence has forcibly displaced 21,000 residents, approximately 90% of the camp’s population, as Israeli forces continue their aggressive military operations.

The committee stated that 36 citizens have been killed, with dozens more injured or arrested, amid worsening humanitarian conditions. Israeli forces have systematically burned and destroyed homes, with several set ablaze in recent days. Tanks and bulldozers have invaded Jenin city and its camp for the first time since 2002, conducting widespread demolitions and raids. The incursions have extended to nearby towns, where homes have been converted into military barracks, further displacing civilians.

Infrastructure has suffered severe damage, with water and electricity outages affecting large areas. Residents face critical shortages of food, basic necessities, and medical supplies, as the entrance to Jenin government hospital remains blocked by earth mounds, hindering access for the injured and sick.

The media committee has called for international solidarity to lift the siege on Jenin and confront Israel’s ongoing aggression, which it describes as a genocidal war against Palestinians and their properties. The situation remains dire as the assault continues unabated.
