At least 15 Palestinians were killed and dozens more wounded on Friday as Israeli airstrikes pounded multiple areas across the Gaza Strip, marking the 651st day of a brutal campaign that Palestinians and rights groups widely describe as a genocidal war.
According to Safa News Agency, the attacks began at dawn, with four civilians killed in Jabalia al-Nazla, northern Gaza. Mohammad Jamal al-Sabbagh also succumbed to injuries days after his home was bombed in Gaza City’s Al-Zarqa neighbourhood.
In Rafah, rescue teams pulled two unidentified bodies from beneath the rubble in al-Shakoush, while five members of the Abu Sahloul family were killed in Khan Younis when their home in the refugee camp was bombed. More than ten others were wounded.
Another airstrike targeted tents housing displaced families west of Khan Younis, killing five civilians, including Hassan Alami, Dina Saed Al-Khatib, Sarah Alami, and Suzan Abu Shahla. In a separate attack, Abdul-Mu'ti Musab Yassin and his mother Yasmin were killed when an Israeli drone struck Al-Hanawi School near Asda’a prison.
Israeli forces also resumed the demolition of homes in eastern Gaza City, contributing to the already widespread destruction across the Strip.
Since October 2023, Israel’s assault on Gaza has killed or injured over 195,000 Palestinians, most of them women and children. More than 10,000 remain missing under the rubble. The Strip faces an accelerating humanitarian disaster, with famine claiming more lives daily, including dozens of children, as the world remains paralysed in the face of unfolding atrocities.
