Nine Palestinians Killed in Deadly Israeli Strike on Gaza Police Headquarters

SAFA- Nine Palestinians were killed and 15 others injured Wednesday when Israeli forces struck the Municipalities Police headquarters in Gaza City, according to local and medical sources.

The General Police Directorate said the strike targeted the headquarters in Gaza Governorate, killing and injuring police officers and personnel.

The Gaza Interior Ministry and National Security condemned the strike, describing it as a massacre targeting the civil police force and warning that such attacks undermine security and stability in the territory.

Hamas condemned the strike as a war crime and a threat to the ceasefire. The movement rejected Israeli military claims that the strike targeted resistance leaders, saying they were used to justify targeting the civil police and civilians.

Hamas also said the strike reflected Israel's continued refusal to fulfill its ceasefire commitments and called on mediators, guarantors and the US administration to take firm action to stop violations and ensure implementation of the ceasefire agreement.

The Hamas Movement warned that continued attacks on civil security agencies could create a security vacuum, spread chaos and contribute to plans for forced displacement.

Earlier Wednesday, one Palestinian was killed and others injured when an Israeli airstrike targeted a motorcycle near Camp 2, south of the Nuseirat refugee camp in central Gaza.

On Tuesday, seven Palestinians were killed when Israeli forces struck a café at Gaza seaport.

According to the Health Ministry, 1,274 Palestinians have been killed and 4,229 injured in Gaza since the ceasefire took effect on October 10, 2025. The ministry said the bodies of 813 victims have also been recovered.

The cumulative toll since the start of the Israeli genocide in Gaza on October 7, 2023, has reached 73,414 people killed and 174,335 injured. The ministry said a number of victims remain under the rubble and on roads, while ambulance and civil defense crews remain unable to reach them.
