Gaza Under Fire: Families Wiped Out as Israeli Strikes Shatter Ceasefire

The fragile ceasefire in Gaza has been brutally shattered as Israeli airstrikes resumed, targeting residential areas and wiping out entire families. At least 404 Palestinians have been killed, with 562 injured, in a devastating wave of attacks that has plunged the besieged territory back into chaos during the holy month of Ramadan.

Israeli forces issued evacuation orders, but for many Palestinians who had returned to their damaged homes, there was no escape. Bombs rained down without warning, killing families in seconds and leaving others buried under rubble. Momen Qoreiqeh, who lost 26 family members in the strikes, described the horror: “We were shocked by the intensity of the attacks. A massive strike hit our residential block, killing so many. Some are still trapped under the debris.”

Hospitals across Gaza are overwhelmed, struggling to cope with the influx of casualties. Ahmed Abu Rizq, a teacher, recounted the panic: “We woke up to explosions everywhere. Hospitals are filled with blood, and families are arriving with the remains of their children.”

Reports from Gaza City describe how the territory has become a “killing zone.” Hospitals are inundated with victims, including entire families—women, children, and the elderly. One mother was seen weeping over the bodies of her two daughters, while others remain missing under the rubble.

Muhammad Abu Salmiya, director of al-Shifa Hospital, warned that critical shortages of medical supplies and fuel are costing lives. Doctors are facing an enormous challenge as the lack of fuel threatens to shut down medical facilities entirely.

With no safe place left in Gaza, Palestinians are gripped by desperation and fear. Many had hoped to spend the final days of Ramadan in peace, but instead, they are mourning their dead and fighting to survive. The world watches in silence as Gaza burns, and its people endure yet another chapter of unimaginable suffering.
