Yemen’s Armed Forces (YAF) have launched a third missile strike on Israel’s Ben Gurion Airport in less than 48 hours, vowing to continue targeting the facility as long as Israel’s aggression and blockade on Gaza persist. In a statement on Saturday, 22 March, YAF spokesperson Brigadier General Yahya Saree confirmed the attack, carried out using a Palestine-2 hypersonic ballistic missile, and declared it a success.
The operation, Saree stated, was conducted “in support of the oppressed Palestinian people and their courageous resistance” against Israel’s ongoing assault on Gaza. This marks the third such strike in two days, underscoring Yemen’s commitment to standing with Palestine amid the escalating violence.
In addition to targeting Israeli infrastructure, Saree revealed that Yemeni drone units have conducted operations against US naval assets in the Red Sea for the sixth consecutive day, specifically targeting warships linked to the USS Harry S. Truman aircraft carrier. These actions, he said, are a direct response to US aggression against Yemen and its attempts to prevent Yemen from supporting the Palestinian cause.
The strikes come as Israel resumes its brutal offensive on Gaza, following the collapse of a two-month ceasefire. Since the resumption of hostilities, Israeli attacks have killed hundreds of Palestinians, including women and children, and pushed the besieged enclave further into humanitarian crisis.
Yemen’s operations highlight the growing regional solidarity with Palestine, as resistance to Israeli and US aggression intensifies. Saree paid tribute to the resilience of the Palestinian people, reaffirming Yemen’s determination to continue its support despite external pressures.
As the conflict in Gaza escalates, Yemen’s actions serve as a stark reminder that the plight of Palestinians resonates far beyond their borders, drawing support from nations unwilling to remain silent in the face of injustice.
