In a time when Gaza’s children face relentless trauma, Morocco has stepped forward with a lifeline. A new humanitarian initiative was launched on Saturday in Rabat, aiming to support hundreds of Palestinian children left orphaned or amputated by the ongoing assault on the Gaza Strip.
The programme, announced at the Al-Quds Al-Sharif Agency headquarters, will provide direct support to 800 children—300 of whom have lost limbs and 500 who have lost one or both parents. These numbers are not abstract statistics—they are the faces of a generation robbed of childhood.
At the heart of the initiative is a focus on healing both body and spirit. A psychological care unit will be created, staffed by Moroccan and Palestinian volunteer specialists, to address the deep emotional wounds these children carry. It is a rare recognition that the damage inflicted on Gaza’s youngest is not only physical.
Morocco’s involvement in Gaza is not new. Under King Mohammed VI’s leadership, the country has supported Palestinian institutions for years—from scholarships and cloud infrastructure for universities, to offering educational opportunities in Rabat. But this latest gesture, focused on the most vulnerable, brings a new layer of urgency and compassion.
While the world debates ceasefires and corridors, Morocco is acting. Its message is clear: Gaza’s children deserve more than pity—they deserve dignity, care, and the tools to rebuild a shattered life. In doing so, Morocco reminds the global community that solidarity must be measured not only in words, but in deeds.
