Baptist Hospital Bombed Again as Israeli Strikes Ravage Gaza’s Healthcare System

In yet another grave violation of international humanitarian law, Israeli warplanes bombed the Baptist Hospital in Gaza City early Sunday, inflicting massive destruction on one of the oldest and most vital medical institutions in the besieged enclave. At the time of the strike, the hospital was teeming with hundreds of patients, wounded civilians, and medical personnel, as Gaza's healthcare system continues to edge toward total collapse.

This attack comes amid ongoing Israeli aggression and mirrors a previous strike on the same hospital, which resulted in a horrific massacre of civilians. The repeated targeting of such facilities highlights a deliberate policy aimed at dismantling Gaza’s already fragile medical infrastructure.

Authorities in Gaza confirmed that the Baptist Hospital has now been rendered out of service. Dozens of patients and wounded individuals were seen lying helplessly in the surrounding streets, with no access to care or shelter. This latest assault brings the number of destroyed hospitals in Gaza to at least 36 since the start of the war.

The destruction of healthcare facilities amid an escalating humanitarian crisis is not only a moral outrage but a blatant breach of international law. Calls are mounting for the United Nations and humanitarian bodies to take urgent action, as Gaza’s remaining medical services face annihilation under continued bombardment.

The systematic targeting of hospitals is a form of collective punishment and organised terror, leaving the sick and wounded defenceless and stripping the Palestinian people of their most basic rights to life and dignity.
