In yet another harrowing episode inside Israeli prisons, several Palestinian detainees at Megiddo have fallen seriously ill after being served expired food—this time, spoiled eggs. The resulting symptoms were immediate and severe: stomach cramps, vomiting, fever, and diarrhoea. But perhaps more appalling than the incident itself is what followed—nothing.

No medical check-ups. No treatment. No acknowledgement.

This silent cruelty is not an isolated case. It is part of a broader pattern of abuse and medical neglect that Palestinian prisoners have endured for decades in Israeli detention centres. Human rights organisations have long sounded the alarm about the inhumane conditions behind bars—filthy cells, poor nutrition, and denial of basic healthcare.
