The Gaza Strip endures yet another day of relentless bloodshed as Israeli forces continue their assault for the 40th consecutive day, leaving a trail of devastation against a backdrop of shameful Arab and international silence.
Israeli attacks today focused heavily on Gaza’s fishermen, with two, Mahmoud Nasser Mahfouz and Mohammed Al-Zant, injured after a drone strike targeted their boat off the northern coast. In a separate assault, six more fishermen were wounded when Israeli naval forces shelled a vessel near Al-Zawaida, central Gaza.
The violence extended beyond the coastline. In Al-Zawaida, Ahmed Abu Mazid and Haitham Abu Muailiq lost their lives after an airstrike struck the roof of a family home. Israeli warplanes also bombed a residential house in Al-Maghazi refugee camp, while artillery barrages pounded areas near Al-Bureij. In Khan Younis, Israeli drones attacked the tents of displaced families, leaving eight civilians wounded, some critically.
Since the breach of the ceasefire on 18 March, the death toll has surged to 2,062 Palestinians, with over 5,300 more injured. Gaza’s suffering, met with global indifference, remains a painful testament to the unchecked brutality endured by its people.
