Israeli settlers stormed the town of Sinjil, north of Ramallah, today, raising Israeli flags over the Al-Tal area in a fresh act of provocation against Palestinian residents.
Local sources reported that dozens of settlers entered the area in a coordinated assault, part of a wider escalation in settler violence that has gripped the West Bank in recent months.
Alongside the devastation unfolding in Gaza, Israeli forces and settlers have intensified their attacks across Palestinian towns and villages, leaving more than 956 Palestinians killed, nearly 7,000 wounded, and around 16,400 arrested since October 2023, according to Palestinian reports.
The assault on Sinjil comes as settlers rapidly expand illegal outposts across the West Bank. Since the beginning of the war on Gaza, 60 new outposts have been established — 51 of them in 2024 alone — according to the Wall and Settlement Resistance Commission.
Israeli settlement activities have forcibly displaced 29 Palestinian communities, comprising around 2,000 individuals, stripping families of their homes and livelihoods under systematic violence and land theft. As settler impunity grows, so too does the suffering of Palestinian communities resisting erasure from their land.
