Moroccans staged a sweeping wave of protests across the country on Friday, standing in solidarity with Gaza and condemning what they described as an ongoing genocide perpetrated by Israeli forces since October 2023.
Organised by the Moroccan Commission for Advocating the Nation’s Causes, demonstrations were held in 66 cities under the slogan "Gaza is Calling You", marking the 73rd consecutive Friday of mobilisation. According to the organisers, 110 separate protests were recorded, reflecting a deep-rooted public outrage over the catastrophic situation unfolding in Gaza.
Protesters accused Israeli forces of committing systematic atrocities — including mass killings, starvation, displacement, and the destruction of essential life services — in clear violation of international law. Many described the siege as one of the gravest humanitarian crimes in modern history.
Since early March, Israel has kept Gaza’s crossings sealed, blocking humanitarian aid, medicine, and basic goods, worsening the already desperate conditions faced by over two million Palestinians trapped under siege.
The Moroccan commission warned against the continued complicity of the international community, denouncing what it called an "indefensible and shameful silence" in the face of widespread suffering.
Participants vowed to sustain their support for Gaza until justice is achieved and Palestinians reclaim their full, inalienable rights.
