UNICEF Condemns Killing of 45 Children in Gaza as War Intensifies

In just 48 hours, 45 Palestinian children have been killed by Israeli strikes on Gaza, according to UNICEF, which described the ongoing horror as a brutal reminder that children are bearing the brunt of this war.

“Children in Gaza are starving, suffering, and dying every day,” the agency said, urging an immediate halt to the violence and calling for the protection of the most vulnerable. Meanwhile, the World Health Organization reported further destruction of medical infrastructure, including the complete shutdown of the European Gaza Hospital in Khan Younis following Israeli attacks.

The violence has escalated sharply since 18 March 2025, when Israel resumed its military campaign, effectively shattering a 58-day ceasefire that had been mediated by Qatar and Egypt with U.S. support. What followed has been described by Palestinians as a renewed phase of genocide.

Nearly 3,000 civilians have been killed and over 8,000 injured in this new wave of attacks—most of them women and children. Since the beginning of the war in October 2023, the Gaza Strip has witnessed unprecedented destruction. According to Gaza’s Ministry of Health, over 173,000 people have been killed or wounded, with thousands still missing under the rubble.

Despite global appeals and staggering loss of life, the bombing continues, forcing the people of Gaza—especially its children—to live through a relentless nightmare.
