Gaza Doctor: Hundreds Dying as Israel Blocks Urgent Medical Transfers

In a stark warning from southern Gaza, Dr Ahmad al-Farra of Nasser Medical Complex revealed that over 500 Palestinians, many of them critically wounded, have died due to delayed or denied medical transfers, as the Strip’s health system teeters on total collapse.

The paediatric and maternity ward chief described scenes of unbearable overcrowding and medical exhaustion, saying the hospital can no longer accept new patients as Israeli attacks continue unabated. “We are forced to choose who gets treatment and who doesn’t. This is not medicine, this is triage under siege,” he said.

Dr al-Farra blamed the deaths on deliberate delays in issuing medical referrals and what he called a near-total ban on medical evacuations. He described the restrictions as a direct violation of international humanitarian law, calling out the international community’s silence.

He also denounced the so-called humanitarian aid supplied by a U.S.-based company affiliated with Israel, accusing it of worsening conditions and increasing the number of injuries rather than easing suffering.

As of today, at least 41 new bodies were brought to hospitals across Gaza since dawn, underscoring the unrelenting toll of the Israeli military campaign. With every passing hour, the price of delayed action grows, measured not in policy statements, but in the lives of those who might have been saved.
