Tlaib Condemns US Funding for Gaza "Humanitarian" Project as Complicity in Genocide

US Congresswoman Rashida Tlaib has slammed the Trump administration’s decision to send $30 million to a US-Israeli-backed "humanitarian" initiative in Gaza, calling it direct financing of genocide.

In a scathing post on X, Tlaib denounced the funding, highlighting that the same institution operates under Israeli oversight while Palestinians are systematically killed as they queue for food. "This so-called aid is a deadly trap," she wrote. "The world stays silent as Palestinians are slaughtered at distribution points, and now America is bankrolling it."

Her remarks follow a UNRWA report describing US-Israeli aid centres in Gaza as "killing fields," after Israeli forces repeatedly opened fire on starving civilians seeking food. Despite this, the State Department defended the funding, with deputy spokesperson Tomi B. Gutt praising the institution’s "commendable work" and urging other nations to contribute.

Tlaib’s condemnation underscores growing outrage over Western-backed schemes that claim to aid Gaza while enabling its destruction. As Palestinian deaths mount, critics argue such initiatives serve only to whitewash atrocities, with US dollars.
