US President Donald Trump on Saturday called on UAE Crown Prince Mohammed bin Zayed al-Nahyan to congratulate him on the progress made in the normalization deals between the UAE and Bahrain and Israel.

White House deputy spokesman  said, in a statement, that Trump and al-Nahyan discussed the latest developments in the Middle East during a phone call.

Trump thanked Mohammed bin Zayed for his congratulations, and expressed his congratulations to him for the leadership he showed during the signing phase of the “Brahini Agreement” (the normalization agreement between the UAE and the Israeli forces).

Meanwhile, the two sides also discussed, during the call, a number of security issues of common interest.

On September 15, the UAE and Bahrain signed agreements to normalize relations with Israel during a White House ceremony with U.S. President Donald Trump.
