Gaza Faces Catastrophic Shortages as Aid Trucks Remain Blocked

Authorities in Gaza have warned of an escalating humanitarian disaster as the blockade and closure of border crossings continue to choke off vital supplies. They stressed that at least 600 aid trucks carrying food, medicine, baby formula and fuel are urgently needed every day to meet even the most basic needs, yet the trickle of aid allowed in remains dangerously inadequate.

The prolonged ban on humanitarian goods, now stretching nearly five months, has left infant nutrition supplies critically low. With 250,000 cans of baby formula required monthly, malnutrition is increasingly visible among Gaza’s most vulnerable children, compounding an already dire health crisis.

Officials insist that partial or sporadic aid deliveries are no substitute for reopening crossings and ending the blockade. Without immediate and sustained access for humanitarian convoys, famine and preventable deaths will continue to rise, deepening Gaza’s already unprecedented emergency.
