Amnesty Demands Justice After Six Palestinian Journalists Martyred in Gaza Airstrike

Six Palestinian journalists were martyred when an Israeli airstrike struck a media tent in Gaza City, silencing voices that had long served as the eyes and truth-tellers of their besieged community. Anas al-Sharif, Mohammad Qreiqeh, Ibrahim Zaher, Moamen Aliwa, Mohammad Al-Khalidi, and Mohammad Nofal had continued their work despite hunger, exhaustion, and the pain of personal loss, determined to document the reality of life under relentless siege.

Their martyrdom is a profound loss for press freedom in Gaza, where journalists face unprecedented targeting in modern conflict. Each life taken is not only a personal tragedy but also an attempt to erase the stories and testimonies that reveal the suffering and resilience of the Palestinian people to the world.

Amnesty International has called for an independent and impartial investigation into the attack, alongside justice and reparations for the victims’ families. But in Gaza, where the bombardment never ceases, such demands are met with the grim reality that the destruction of homes, lives, and voices shows no sign of ending.
