Israeli-Moroccan talks began in 2018 with support of King Mohammed VI

Moroccan Minister of Foreign Affairs, Nasser Bourita, revealed that the talks about normalization with Israel embarked on 2018, and that the main supporter of the process was Mohammed VI, King of Morocco.

“These relations with Israel do not conflict with Morocco's support and defense of the Palestinian issue, praising the US recognition of Moroccan sovereignty over Western Sahara,” Bourita claimed during his interview with i24NEWS Israeli channel.

He added, King Mohammed VI, since the first meeting in May 2018, believed in this normalization, and made sure that it was stable in the way he felt most comfortable, and after a lot of work and two years of paying efforts made by his direction, the result, at the end, was positive, met expectations, and conformed to the vision of King Mohammed VI.

When Bourita was asked if he could confirm that he met with the Prime Minister of Israel, Benjamin Netanyahu, at the United Nations within the framework of the secret efforts to conclude the agreement, he said: "Since 2018, there have been many connections, according to the instructions of the Majesty of the king ... and he spoke with The American president and has sent delegations to the United States, not only to meet with the Americans, but also with the Israelis. "

Morocco was the fourth Arab country to announce the normalization relations with the Israel in the current year 2020, after the UAE, Bahrain and Sudan, respectively.
