A violent incident northeast of Ramallah has left a local shepherd severely injured and resulted in the theft of hundreds of sheep. According to reports gathered from the area, a group of armed individuals launched an assault on grazing grounds near the village of Kafr Malek. The attack resulted in the seizure of approximately 300 sheep from two local herders. One of the men sustained significant injuries after being beaten whilst attempting to protect his livestock.
Witnesses report that the situation was further exacerbated by the obstruction of emergency services. A Palestinian ambulance attempting to reach the wounded man was allegedly prevented from doing so by military personnel at a nearby checkpoint, critically delaying his access to urgent medical care. This event is not isolated but rather part of a documented pattern of escalating violence in the region, where raids on villages east of Ramallah have become increasingly frequent. These raids often involve the destruction of property and physical assaults on residents.
Local sources, including the Safa News Agency, indicate that such acts form a coordinated strategy to force Palestinian communities from their land. The theft of livestock, a primary source of livelihood, is seen as a particularly devastating tactic. Over the past year, similar operations have been reported in areas such as Jericho, involving not only the seizure of animals but also widespread damage to property. The current climate has created an atmosphere of impunity, where such actions are routinely carried out without intervention, profoundly threatening the existence of traditional herding communities across the occupied territories.
