Israel Displaces 350,000 as Thousands of Homes and Tents Are Destroyed in Gaza

The Israeli military’s ongoing campaign in Gaza City has forced more than 350,000 residents from their homes while destroying thousands of buildings and shelters. The Government Media Office condemned the assaults, describing them as part of a systematic policy of destruction, forced displacement, and ethnic cleansing since the start of the ground invasion on 11 August 2025. Residential towers, homes, schools, hospitals, mosques, and tents have all been targeted, leaving civilians, including children, women, and the elderly, vulnerable and homeless.

Official figures report the complete demolition of over 1,600 residential buildings, severe damage to more than 2,000 others, and the destruction of 13,000 tents used by displaced families. Since September alone, 70 towers and buildings have been fully demolished, with 120 heavily damaged and 3,500 tents destroyed. These attacks have uprooted tens of thousands of families, forcing them to flee from eastern neighborhoods to central and western Gaza under continuous bombardment.

Authorities stressed that Gaza City’s neighborhoods, including Shuja’iya, Tel al-Hawa, Rimal, and Beach Camp, have all been heavily affected, and called on the international community to urgently intervene. The campaign’s targeting of homes and displacement shelters underscores the systematic nature of the destruction, leaving the city’s population exposed to one of the most severe humanitarian crises in recent history.
