Israeli forces did not only demolish the house of the Palestinian Rasmi Abu Aram in At-Tuwani village in Hebron, south of the West Bank, but they also hit his brother, Haroun (24), with a bullet in the neck causing him a quadriplegia.
About 20 days ago, Abu Aram family sought refuge in one of the caves in the village, after the Israeli vehicles demolished their house under the pretext of not being licensed.
“I participated with my neighbors to build a barrack for sheep, and while working on it, the Israeli soldiers stormed the place and attacked children and women,” Rasmi said.
"The first bullet passed over me, then I turned to see it piercing my son’s Haroun neck and throwing him into my hands," Abu Aram recounts the details of his son's injury.
While he and his son were attempting to prevent the Israeli soldiers from confiscating an electrical generator, they fired live bullets towards them from zero distance .
“ Israeli forces tried to prevent me to treat my son and shot the vehicle that was transferring him to the hospital, which resulted in damage to it. As soon as a number of village residents gathered, the Israeli soldiers withdrew,” Abu Aram stated in an interview with Safa.
"I took the two wounded sons to another vehicle, but the Israeli bullets rained down on us again at the village gate."
Abu Aram notes that his wounded son was transferred to Yatta Governmental Hospital, and then to Al-Ahly Hospital in Hebron.
Just before the wedding
Haroun's mother says, while she was crying hard, that she was preparing for her first son's wedding after he had recently got engaged, adding that his fiancée witnessed the incident and she cannot believe what has happened so far.
She continues, "I couldn't control myself after seeing him lying on the ground and blood flowing from him. I thought he was martyred."
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs condemned Israel crime against the young man, Abu Aram. It emphasized that this crime reflects the fascist racist mentality that controls the joints of government in Israel.
It indicated that International Criminal Court should bear its responsibility towards the crimes of Israel, calling on the UN Human Rights Council to form an international investigation committee into the incident.
At-Tuwani village is subjected to numerous violations, demolitions, and confiscations by the Israeli authorities, under the pretext of lack of permission or for military purposes.
