Israel demolished 59 homes and facilities and notified 54 during December

“Israeli forces demolished 59 Palestinian homes and facilities during December,” Human Rights and Democracy Media Center “SHAMS,” stated in a daily report on Tuesday.

The demolitions that affected 59 facilities included 7 that were forced to self-demolish their owners under threat of fines and imprisonment. Meanwhile, the Israeli forces confiscated and seized 5 facilities.

The Israeli Magistrates’ Court also issued a decision to evacuate the homes of citizens Jawad Abu Nab and Salem Ghaith in Silwan for the benefit of settlers under the pretext of their ownership of Jews from Yemen since 1881.

Moreover, Israeli forces notified 54 establishments of demolition, confiscation or eviction, most of which are residential, in addition to other commercial and agricultural facilities and wells for collecting water.

The demolished installations included houses and residential rooms: 29 facilities, 5 tent dwellings, 3 caravan dwellings, 2 service rooms, 5 water wells, 5 retaining walls, 2 commercial installation, 2 car wash, 2 sheds and stockyards, 2 stores, 11 rooms, caravans, barracks, and greenhouses, 3 vegetable stands, and 3 garages, in addition to a medical facility, a garden cave, and a building belonging to the village council.

The peak of the attacks was concentrated in Jerusalem as 17 facilities were demolished, followed by Hebron with 15 facilities, and then Jericho and Jordan Valley with 9 demolished facilities.

The number of notifications has reached 54, whether of demolition, confiscation, eviction, stopping construction work and others that prevent Palestinians from realizing their right to build, rebuild and invest their facilities.

The order of the target governorates for the notifications was, Hebron with 26 facilities, Jenin with 18 facilities, and Nablus with 5 facilities, according to the report.

These operations targeting Palestinian installations do not take place in an area isolated from the population, as the number of people affected by it during the last December reached 77 at least, including 27 children and 7 women, whose suffering be greater in these cases.
