International action is called on to stop suffering of Etzion prisoners

The Prisoners and Executives Affairs Authority warned on Tuesday of the tragic conditions of detention and living that the prisoners suffer in Etzion detention center, south of Bethlehem, stressing that their conditions are weeping and dangerous.

The lawyer for the authority, Jacqueline Fararge, who visited the prisoners in Etzion Prison yesterday, explained that the conditions in which the detainees are held in it disgrace the concept of humanity.

"22 prisoners suffer from lack of hygiene and food and freezing cold that exhaust their bodies,” she said.

There is no cleanliness inside the prison, the smell is very unpleasant, and the number of prisoners is large in overcrowded rooms.

The quantity of the food is not enough and most of the prisoners complain of hunger, as the food provided is not sufficient for them and does not satisfy their hunger. In addition, they suffer from a lack of winter clothes and blankets and from the damaged toilets

The matter cannot be described in words. The detention conditions in Etzion prison are dangerous and weeping, and the institutions of the international community must act immediately to stop the prisons suffering.
