Four Injured in Qusra Settler Attack, Including Two Foreign Activists

Four people, including two foreign solidarity activists, were injured on Friday after Israeli settlers attacked the village of Qusra, south of Nablus, in the occupied West Bank. Local sources reported that the activists were present in the Ras al-Ain area to support Palestinian families when settlers physically assaulted them. The Palestine Red Crescent Society treated a 71-year-old woman and a 51-year-old man. Two Palestinians were also injured during the attack.

The incidents come amid a wider surge in settler and Israeli military violence across the West Bank since the outbreak of the Gaza war on 8 October 2023. Palestinian sources report that at least 1,117 have been killed, approximately 11,500 injured, and nearly 22,000 detained during this period.

Palestinians warn that ongoing attacks and settlement expansion are paving the way for de facto annexation of the West Bank, threatening the prospects for an independent Palestinian state. The international community, including the United Nations, continues to recognise the West Bank, including East Jerusalem, as occupied Palestinian territory, with Israeli settlements considered illegal under international law.
