Israeli forces carried out fresh artillery strikes, gunfire attacks and controlled demolitions across several parts of Gaza on Saturday, as violations of the ceasefire agreement continued amid the ongoing genocidal war.
Residents and local reporters said Israeli helicopters opened fire towards areas east of the Bureij refugee camp in central Gaza, while military vehicles also fired in the same area. In the south, artillery shelling targeted Rafah and explosions were reported east of Khan Younis, where buildings were demolished by Israeli forces alongside continued live fire.
Along Gaza City’s coastline, Israeli naval vessels fired towards the shore while artillery strikes hit eastern districts of the city. The attacks came less than a day after seven Palestinians were killed and dozens wounded in strikes targeting a residential apartment and a vehicle in Gaza City on Friday evening.
The ceasefire agreement between Israel and Hamas officially came into effect in October last year, but Palestinians in Gaza say military operations and attacks have continued on a near-daily basis despite the truce.
According to Gaza’s health ministry, at least 857 Palestinians have been killed and more than 2,400 injured since the ceasefire began, while hundreds of bodies have also been recovered from destroyed areas.
