During the year 2020, the West Bank and Jerusalem witnessed an escalation of Israeli violations against the Palestinians, represented in settlement activities, incursions into the Al-Aqsa Mosque, and the killing and arresting of Palestinians.

The periodic report issued by the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) in the occupied West Bank on Israeli violations in Jerusalem and the West Bank monitored a high Israeli focus on settlement activities, which included working with all means to displace the remaining Palestinians, seize their lands, demolish their homes, and confiscate their properties.

The report, a copy of which obtained by Safa, highlighted that the annexation plan and the "deal of the century" announced by the outgoing US President Donald Trump at the beginning of last year reflected on the settler attacks, which witnessed a clear increase, especially during the past December.

It pointed out that the attacks of the occupation and its settlers came despite the circumstances of the spread of the Coronavirus and the general closure measures, which Israel exploited to commit more attacks against Palestinian citizens.

Moreover, it confirmed that settler attacks included shooting, carrying out deliberate run-offs, attempts to kidnap children, seizing lands and crops, committing attacks against mosques and holy sites, burning a number of them, and escalating the daily raids of the Al-Aqsa Mosque.

The report monitored the demolition of 268 homes, and the confiscation of 346 citizens' properties, compared to 271 confiscated in 2019.

It also mentioned that the number of properties destroyed by Israeli forces reached 928, some of which were self-demolished by their owners to avoid paying heaving fines to the Israeli authorities, while settlement activities included confiscation and bulldozing of lands, building roads, and approving the construction of thousands of settlement units.

The occupation and its settlers killed 32 Palestinians, including children and women, the report added.

It also stressed the injury of 1993 Palestinians with Israeli fire and settlers, saying that the number of shootings carried out by the occupation soldiers and settlers reached 1621 attacks.
