SAFA- Dr. Mohammad Abu Salmiya, Director-General of Al-Shifa Medical Complex, warned that Gaza's hospitals are facing catastrophic conditions amid the ongoing Israeli genocide and Israel's continued blockade on the entry of medicines and medical supplies.

Abu Salmiya said shortages of medicines, medical consumables, and surgical supplies have exceeded 50%, placing medical teams under mounting pressure as they struggle to treat the growing number of casualties.

He also said hospitals are once again witnessing the "sole survivor" phenomenon among children after entire families were wiped out in Israeli attacks.

According to Abu Salmiya, the recurrence of such cases reflects the scale of the humanitarian catastrophe unfolding across the Gaza Strip.

He renewed his warning about the consequences of the continued blockade on medical supplies, stressing that Gaza's healthcare system faces the risk of complete collapse if Israel continues to prevent the entry of humanitarian and medical aid.

He added that hospitals are already overwhelmed by the continuous influx of wounded Palestinians as Israeli bombardment persists across the Gaza Strip.
