Council for International Relations in Palestine and the International Relations Office of Hamas welcomed the Executive Board's voting for the World Health Organization against Israel's decision to withdraw the item concerning the organization's mandate of the health conditions in the Palestinian lands and the occupied territories.
The council clarified that this decision failed Israel's attemps to escape from its responsibilites, particularly the health responsibilities, as a force that occupies the Palestinian lands.
It thanked the countries that voted against the decision, confirming the importance of the role the international organizations played to confront Israel and its attempts to wipe out the Palestinians.
It called on the international organizations to force Israel to perform its duties and responsibilites towards the Palestinians and provide them with all the health needs required, most importanlty the COVID 19 vaccination.
Bassim Naim, a member of the International Relations Office of Hamas, welcomed the decision of the World Health Organization, and confimred that Israel's attempts to escape from its responsibilities as an occupying force should be confronted.
He called to practice all the possible pressures on Israel, according to the international law, to force it to perfrom its duties towards the Palestinians regarding health and education.
He also called the international society to step in and end up the Israeli occupation over the Palestinian and Arabic lands. Otherwise, Penalties should be imposed on it so the Palestinians can enjoy freedom and independence.
Israel's representative in the World Health Organization requested that the item concerning the health conditions in the occupied Palestinian and Arabic lands must be withdrawn from the agenda of the organization.
The project was posed to vote. 7 countries voted in favour of the decision, 15 voted against it, and 9 abstained from voting.
