Israel's detentions and threats aim at vandalizing Palestinian elections

Mustafa Barghouti, General Secretary of the Palestinian National Initiative, described Israel's campaign of arresting and threatening the Palestinian activists to prevent them from running for Palestinian elections as an Israeli attempt to suppress liberties and vandalize the Palestinian democratic elections.

"It is clear that the Israeli government wants to hinder elections and all efforts made to achieve the national unity to keep pretending that it is the only democratic front in the region," Barghouti said.

He also emphasized the importance of the united resistance against Israeli suppression and confronting any attempts to interfere in the results of elections.

Israeli elections raided, on Tuesday, a number of the homes of Hamas leaders in Hebron and warned them of running as candidates in the coming elections.
