3 Prisoners continue their hunger strike

Three prisoners in the Israeli prisons are continuing their open hunger strike, rejecting their administrative detention, according to the Palestinian prisoner club.

The club said in a statement on Sunday that the oldest of these prisoners is Imad Sawarka, who has been on strike for 39 days, in addition to the two prisoners Musab al-Hur and the journalist Alaa al-Rimawi.

The prisoner Swarka, 37, from Jericho, began his hunger strike on March 18, 2021, after Israel issued a new administrative detention order against him, which is the third since his arrest in July 2020.

It was confirmed that the prisoner Swarka, a former prisoner and father of five, is facing a difficult health situation that worsens over time, and according to available information, the Israeli prisons administration continues to detain him in the cells of the Ashkelon prison, where he was transferred to it after announcing the strike, pointing out that until now there are no serious solutions to his case.

The prisoner Musab Al-Hur, 33, from Hebron continues his hunger strike for the 13th day in a row, and he began his strike on April 13 and has been in the cells of the Negev Desert prison, knowing that he is married and a father of one child and has been detained since 2019. Also, he is a former prisoner who has spent years in Israeli prisons.

The journalist prisoner Alaa al-Rimawi from Ramallah continues his strike for the fifth day in a row. He was transferred yesterday from the Etzion detention center to the Israeli Shaare Zedak Medical Center.

Al-Rimawi is a former prisoner who spent 11 years in Israeli prisons, and he is married and has five children. He was arrested on April 21 due to his journalistic work and announced his strike on the first day of his arrest.
