Ismail Haniyeh, head of the political office of Hamas, stated on Sunday that there is no calmness while the Israeli occupation continue practicing its aggressive policies in occupied Jerusalem. 

"Jerusalem is not and will never be alone. Gaza is there with its resistance and rockets to protect the families in Jerusalem," he said in an electronic seminar.

He noted that what happened in Jerusalem was a part of a strategic political context, not a separated uprising. 

Haniyeh confirmed that the Hamas movement will keep defending Jerusalem and the Palestinians' rights. 

"Our Palestinian people dropped the occupation's theories in the past days," he said, confirming the conduct of elections in Jerusalem and all Palestinian territories. 

"Our date is on the 28th of Ramadan. We will not allow the settlers to mess up with our Jerusalem and we will not get enough with a slogan saying "No elections with Jerusalem". We will prove that the elections will be held as scheduled and in Jerusalem first," Haniyeh said. 

He confirmed that conducting the elections in Jerusalem is a right and a national battle that we must go into it. 

"Everybody should know that Jerusalem is a capital and a title," he said.
