Killing, Starvation, and Siege: Israel’s Genocidal War on Gaza Continues Unabated

Israel’s war on Gaza has entered yet another bloody chapter, as the occupation continues its relentless bombardment, tightening its siege and blocking vital humanitarian aid, all while famine deepens and innocent lives are lost by the hour. Since dawn Thursday, 56 Palestinians have been killed in fresh Israeli attacks across the Strip.

The humanitarian catastrophe has been compounded by the complete closure of crossings, turning even so-called “aid centres”, particularly those linked to US-Israeli efforts, into fatal traps. Desperate civilians in search of food and water are instead met with violence or neglect, leaving many to die at the gates of false hope.

The Palestinian Journalists’ Bloc has issued a dire call to all independent media to intensify their coverage of the war crimes unfolding in Gaza. In a statement released Thursday, the bloc urged journalists to expose Israel’s starvation policy, a deliberate tactic of mass extermination masked by deceitful claims of allowing aid into the besieged enclave.

The death toll continues its staggering rise. Since the start of Israel’s military assault on 7 October 2023, 58,573 Palestinians have been killed, with another 139,607 wounded. Since Israel’s breach of the Gaza truce on 18 March 2025 alone, 7,750 more lives have been lost, and at least 27,566 people injured.

Latest Atrocities Include:

  • Israeli warplanes bombed Al-Hanawi School and Asdaa Prison in the Japanese neighbourhood of Khan Younis, killing at least two and injuring others.

  • Homes east of Gaza City were demolished, while drone fire rained down on Sheikh Radwan in the north.

  • In Jabalia, five homes were bombed in the Al-Ghabari area.

  • Six Christian civilians were wounded, two critically, in an artillery attack on the Latin Patriarchate Church in Gaza’s Old City.

  • A child was killed, and others wounded, by a drone strike in the Asdaa area west of Khan Younis.

  • Israeli strikes on Al-Sabra and Karama areas left multiple civilians dead and wounded, including children.

Despite the harrowing toll, the international community remains largely paralysed. Yet, in Gaza, where starvation is weaponised and civilians are systematically slaughtered, the cry for justice grows louder, even as the world turns away.
