UN Rapporteurs: Israel Continues to Kill Palestinians Despite Ceasefire Agreement

SAFA- UN rapporteurs stated that Israel continues to commit "genocide" against the Palestinians, noting that around 160 Palestinians were killed in July alone, despite a ceasefire agreement announced more than ten months ago.

The rapporteurs explained that July witnessed a sharp increase in attacks on civilians in the Gaza Strip and the occupied Palestinian territories, confirming that violations and operations targeting Palestinians continued despite the announcement of a ceasefire.

They pointed out that Israel has killed more than 1,200 Palestinians since the ceasefire was declared in October 2025, while attacks continued to claim the lives of civilians in various areas of the Gaza Strip.

Victims also include women, children, the elderly and other Palestinians who sought refuge in tents and areas they considered safe,” the rapporteurs said, amid continued dangers faced by civilians in the Gaza Strip.

They added that most of the deaths occurred far from the "yellow line" area, in densely populated and displaced areas, including Al-Mawasi area, where a large number of Palestinians sought refuge during the war.

These data come amid ongoing international warnings about the deterioration of the humanitarian situation in the Gaza Strip and the increasing risks faced by civilians despite the ceasefire agreement being in effect.

Gaza’s Ministry of Health said on Tuesday that the number of Palestinians killed since the start of the Israeli genocide in the Gaza Strip has risen to 73,387, while 174,257 others have been injured.

The ministry added that since the ceasefire began on October 11, 2025, 1,259 Palestinians have been killed and 4,146 injured. It also said that 807 victims were recovered from beneath the rubble during the same period.
