Israeli police reinforce their forces in Jerusalem ahead of Flags March

The Israeli occupation police reinforced its forces in Jerusalem and the vicinity of the Old City in preparation for the Flags March that settlers intend to implement tomorrow, Tuesday.

There are fears of violent clashes between the right-wing elements in the march and the Palestinians, according to the Hebrew newspaper "Maariv".

The newspaper pointed out that police officers will be deployed publicly and secretly along the march line, especially in the Damascus Gate area.

Within the framework of the situation assessment session that was conducted under the chairmanship of the Jerusalem Brigade police official, Doron Turjuman; "The itinerary of the march was carefully chosen, and intelligence information was examined, on the basis of which the locations of the police forces were determined in anticipation of any emergency."

The occupation police had agreed to allow the march to be held tomorrow, after changing its path, as it would go through the streets of the Old City from Jerusalem to the Al-Buraq Wall through the Christians neighborhood and the Jews neighborhood and not through the Islamic neighborhood.

The Flags March was scheduled to take place on the tenth of last May, on the so-called "Unification of Jerusalem" day, the anniversary of the occupation of the eastern part of it, before its path was modified as a result of popular and international pressures, to be canceled later with the Palestinian resistance firing 4 missiles at Jerusalem, on the day of the march.

For 30 years, the Religious Zionism Youth Movement has been organizing this march, with the participation of tens of thousands of settlers, carrying Israeli flags, chanting anti-Arab and anti-Palestinian slogans, and roaming the Old City and its streets.
