“Blood on Their Hands”: 80,000 March in London Against UK Complicity in Gaza Genocide

Over 80,000 people took to the streets of London on Saturday, in one of the largest pro-Palestine protests since October 2023, calling for an immediate end to Britain's military and political support for Israel’s brutal campaign in Gaza. The march, held on 19 July, marked 21 months of ongoing aggression that has left tens of thousands dead and millions starving under siege.

Organised by the Palestinian Forum in Britain and the Solidarity Coalition with Palestine, the protest sent a powerful message to Westminster: silence is complicity. Among the speakers was Dr Mohammed Mustafa, a British-Palestinian surgeon recently barred from re-entering Gaza. Holding up his bloodied scrubs, he declared: “These carry the blood of those I couldn’t save. They are now voiceless. So I speak for them.”

The crowd heard testimonies of unbearable grief and defiant hope. Activist and nurse Ahmed Bakr paid tribute to over 1,500 Palestinian medics killed, declaring: “We watched them be executed before the world. If genocide can be livestreamed, justice can be too. We will see a free Palestine.”

From Jeremy Corbyn to trade unions and anti-Zionist Jewish groups, voices united to condemn the UK’s role, not only through arms exports but through diplomatic cover for mass killing. Raghad Takriti likened the horrors of Gaza to Srebrenica, warning that “Never Again” has lost its meaning under British silence.

As Israel’s Air Force Commander visited London days before the protest, demonstrators made their stance clear: this is not collateral damage, it is deliberate, systematic extermination. And they will not be silent.
