Nablus Children Raise Their Voices as Gaza's Silence Deepens

In the heart of Nablus, a group of young children stood outside the Red Cross headquarters, not to play, but to cry out for their peers in Gaza. Instead of wrapping up their summer camp with songs or games, they chose a moment of quiet defiance: a humanitarian stand in memory and in solidarity.

Their signs were small, but their voices were steady. “Stand with Gaza’s children,” they pleaded. “They are the future.” Organised by the Raqsh for Creativity Centre, the gathering served as a powerful reminder that children, even in their innocence, see clearly the injustice that adults have grown numb to.

One of the organisers spoke with urgency, condemning the global silence as complicity. “Children are being murdered daily before the eyes of the world,” he said, “and no one moves. It’s as if the world has accepted the killing of Gaza’s children as normal.”

Those children in Gaza, once laughing in classrooms, now starving in shelters, have become symbols of a forgotten humanity. Over 18,000 have been killed in less than two years, according to local authorities. Others waste away under siege, cut off from food, water, and hope. UN agencies warn that every day now costs a classroom of lives.

In Nablus, one child spoke simply, yet profoundly: “You have the right to live, to learn, to play.” Her voice joined a chorus echoing from one occupied land to another. In a world that refuses to act, children are beginning to speak louder.
