Israeli forces attack rally protesting settlers’ flag march in Jerusalem

Israeli army forces attacked today a peaceful demonstration held in protest of Israel’s flag march which marks Israel's capture and subsequent occupation of East Jerusalem in 1967 Six-Day War.

Forces attacked the rally, which was called for by Palestinian national and Islamic factions in protest of Israel’s flag march, with rubber-coated metal bullets, stun grenades, and tear gas canisters, causing many to suffocate due to tear gas inhalation.

Israeli police have blocked access to the Bab al-Amoud (Damascus Gate), pushed Palestinians away from the area, and intensified their presence ahead of the flag march that will see thousands of far-tight settlers roam the occupied city of Jerusalem, passing through the Old City of Jerusalem's Muslim Quarter. The march was widely rejected and condemned as provocative.
