Prisoners' institutes call on international community to save Palestinians' lives in Israeli prisons

Palestinian human rights organizations called on the international community to act to save the lives of the prisoners on hunger strike and deter the merciless illegal Israeli policies adopted against them.

This came in a meeting held by the prisoners' institutes with the Negotiations Affairs Department in the Palestinian Liberation Organization as the participants briefed the international bodies on the dangerous circumstances the prisoners live in and the systematic violations committed against them, particularly in recent times.

The participants reviewed the main racist policies Israel practices such as torture, military courts, administrative detention, and collective penalties, resulting in many prisoners announce their open hunger strike. Most notably, Ghadanfar Abo Atwan who is in a risky health situation as he has been on an open hunger strike for 55 days in a row.

They also reviewed the cause of sick prisoners and medical negligence whose latest victims were Eyad Hreibat and Mowaffaq Al-Orouq who are facing deadly health conditions threatening their lives.

They talked about the systematic inflammatory Israeli campaign which targets the Palestinians' resistance and expressed their absolute rejection of such distortionary campaigns which might mislead the international public opinion and criminalize the Palestinians' legislative resistance against the Israeli occupation.

They held Israel accountable for the prisoners' lives and called on the international human rights organizations and the international community members to force the Israeli authority to commit to international law.
