Jerusalemite prisoner Mashahra enters his 20th year in occupation prisons


The Jerusalemite prisoner Ramadan Eid Mashhara, 45, from Jabal Mukaber, south of occupied Jerusalem, entered on Tuesday his twentieth consecutive year of detention inside the prisons of the Israeli occupation.

Mashhara was arrested on July 6, 2002, and the Occupation Court convicted him of belonging to the Izz ad-Din al-Qassam Brigades and sentenced him to life imprisonment 20 times.

It was indicated that the prisoner Mashahra is a father of two girls and upon his arrest, he left behind his first child and his pregnant wife, who gave birth to her second child several months later.

The occupation authorities demolished his family's house following the arrest and the accusation against him. In addition, six months after his arrest, his brother Fahmy was arrested and convicted on the same charge and the same 20 life sentence was issued against him.

The prisoner has been transferred a month between several prisons and is currently in Gilboa prison, while his brother Fahmy is in Eshel prison.
