Europeans for al-Quds association strongly condemns the massive incursions carried out by the Israeli settlers into Al-Aqsa Mosque and the Israeli occupation forces attacks on Muslim worshipers.
The Israeli occupation forces this morning stormed Al-Aqsa Mosque and assaulted the worshipers and those stationed in its courtyards by beating them and evacuating the mosque by force before allowing hundreds of settlers to storm it.
In a flagrant crime, large forces of the Israeli police attacked and assaulted the worshipers violently, which led to a number of injuries.
Besides, the occupation forces forced the worshipers to evacuate Al-Aqsa, in preparation for the extremist settlers’ storming of the mosque.
According to field observations and documented video clips, a group of occupation soldiers attacked a woman inside Al-Aqsa Mosque, tied her and dragged her to the ground, and violently assaulted her.
Europeans for al-Quds association confirms that what is happening is a blatant Israeli attempt to impose a new fait accompli in Al-Aqsa Mosque at the expense of the mosque’s religious, historical, and civilizational identity.
What the Israeli occupation forces are committing involves racial discrimination so that it is facilitating incursions by extremist settlers and providing them with protection, they suppress Muslim worshipers and prevent them from freedom of worship.
As Europeans for al-Quds association pay tribute to the Jerusalemites for their protection of Jerusalem, in addition to the Palestinians in the occupied territories in 1948, who came to protect and defend Al-Aqsa Mosque, it warns of the dangerous repercussions of the Israeli policy in Jerusalem.
In the face of all these developments, we call on the international community to move quickly to pressure Israel to stop its aggressions, undo the implementation of forced displacement plans, and end the massive violations of human rights.
Moreover, Europeans for al-Quds calls the European Union countries to stand up to their responsibilities and make the occupying power respect international law and UN resolutions, including the Fourth Geneva Convention for the Protection of Civilians, stop the practice of state terrorism against Jerusalemite civilians, enable them to perform their religious rites in mosques and churches, to curb the practice of state terrorism against Jerusalemite civilians, and control settlers and prevent them of stealing the Jerusalemites and their property.
At the same time, Europeans for al-Quds appeals to the members of the Arab and Islamic communities to advocate for Jerusalemites by all available legal means.
