Hamas leader: Administrative detention is crime against Palestinian prisoners

A leader in Hamas Sheikh Hassan Yousef confirmed that the administrative detention policy is a crime against the Palestinians as it is unjustified and lawful.

Under confidential files which the judge, who is controlled by the Israeli intelligence, looks at, the prisoner stays in prison for two years, less or more, according to Sheikh Yousef.

He confirmed that the Palestinians have the rights to defend their rights and dignity.

He called on all human rights organizations, and international, domestic and Arab institutes to confront this Israeli attack and force Israeli stop this repressive, unjust policy practiced against the prisoners. 

13 Palestinian prisoners continue their open hunger strike inside the Israeli prisons in protest of their administrative detention.

"Administrative detention is unfair. Administrative detainees decided to take escalating steps to confront this policy," Sheikh Yousef said.

He reported that about 500 Palestinians are arrested in the Israeli prisons for no reasons.

He informed that the detainees decided to fight the Israeli occupation through open hunger strike.

He noted that the administrative detainees have several ways to confront the administrative detention, but the policy of open hunger strike proved its effectiveness many times.

He confirmed that the administrative detention is totally rejected.
