Activists launch campaign against Facebook to remove advertisements attacking pro-Palestine congress members

Supporters of the Palestinian rights in the United States launched a campaign against Facebook, calling on it to remove advertisements sponsored by an Israeli organization in which they target congress members supporting the Palestinian right.

A petition signed by more than 3.000 Americans accused AIPAC (American Israeli Public Affairs Committee) to endanger the life of congress members supporting the Palestinian rights through sponsored advertisements.

The petition, released by CodePink feminist organization, urged Facebook to remove the advertisements against the members: Ilhan Omar, Rashida Tlaib, Alexandria Cortees and Cori Bush.

It noted that the language used in the discriminatory advertisements endanger the life of the congress members who belong to religious and ethnic minorities.

It said that the advertisements which are being spread against the members are false, noting that one of the those attacking Ilhan Omar connects her with terrorism.

It also called on Facebook to deal with such advertisements within the right standards, considering them rejected.
