Member of the Political Bureau of Hamas Movement Dr. Khalil al-Haya confirmed the support of Palestinian people and resistance to the Palestinian detainees in the Israeli occupation prisons, especially the ones suffering from administrative detention.
In a meeting organized by the Independent Commission for Human Rights on the conditions of Palestinian administrative detainees in Israeli prisons, Al-Hayya said that the occupation practices administrative detention against Palestinian detainees as a measure to bypass international laws.
Pointing out that some Palestinian detainees have spent more than 15 years under administrative detention, Al-Hayya added that administrative detention is part of the occupation policy to hinder our national work by targeting our national and influential figures, including legislators indicating that it is an attempt to break the national state and that of the steadfastness of our Palestinian people.
Stressing the importance of resisting the administrative detention through hunger strikes, Al-Hayya confirmed the support of the Palestinian people and its leadership to the Palestinian detainees.
Al-Hayya stressed the need to keep the Palestinian detainees' issue present on the Palestinian factions' national agenda in order to protect our people in the West Bank, Jerusalem, and the 1948 territories of occupied Palestine who are suffering from such horrendous policy.
Moreover, Al-Hayya called on the Palestinian resistance to continue its support to the issue of the detainees, calling on the institutions supporting the Palestinian right to shed light on the legal dimension regarding the crimes of the occupation in Palestine, raise them before the world, and unveil and expose its practices.
He also called on the Palestinian Authority to activate holding the occupation accountable before the international courts to end the administrative detention.
